Using some of my new finds I’ve created, in a similar style to my Stolen Moment pieces, Cathy. Of course by now you’ll know about liking for Wuthering Heights, a novel by Emily Brontë published in 1847. It was her only novel and written between December 1845 and July 1846.
Normally I have loads of spare photos for use on the blog, differing from those I use on the Etsy listing, but on this occasion I didn’t . So I’m only reproducing the Etsy listing in this post, to keep people up to date with what I’m doing.
A small three dimensional assemblage comprising a backdrop fashioned from the remnants of the book from which the dress is made. The background is an image of a forest and painted in midnight blue tones and silver leaf were the light filters through, representing their dark relationship.
I wanted the dress to look lonely and ethereal from another time. The skirt of the dress has been made from cottons and some lovely vintage white handkerchiefs. Adorning the dress around the waist are some vintage costume pearls, also three tiny vintage baby buttons that are exquisite.
Embroidered on a banner around the top of the book are the words “He’s more myself than I am, whatever our souls are made from, his and mine are the same.”
