Assemblage dress and book sculpture – “And the clock struck twelve.”

I find myself getting more and more into theater sets/scenes of late. The detail in some is just incredible, the drama and atmosphere they create can be quite beautiful and stunning.

What I’m trying to do, is fuse together various parts of theater sets and dolls’ houses to make my own little worlds. I’ve also wanted to bring some subtle lighting effect into my work for some time and now I very excited. Tom found me a tiny tiny LED light and batter, which I’ve managed to incorporate into my latest piece. The LED is so small I’ve managed to place it behind a mother of pearl shell button. The button damps down the brightness of the light making it soft an yellowish, so we have a nice a shinny moon hanging in the sky outside the Gothic style windows.

Moonlight steal through the window.

I used an old button to diffuse the bright light of the LED.
