Assemblage Dress Instructions – Inspired Ideas

Inspired Ideas

Inspired Ideas

Some weeks ago I was approached by AmyPowers, who asked if I would like to submit an article for the forthcoming issue of an online magazine called Inspired Ideas.  Well I did and, above you can see the cover page of the latest issue.  Inside you’ll find articles on how to make lots of things, including a simple assemblage dress like the one below.

To view the instructions on how to make this simple assemblage dress – inspired by the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Alice in Wonderland, you need to purchase a subscription to Amy’s magazine.  Don’t forget, it is not a hard copy magazine it is an online magazine – don’t wait for it to be coming through your letterbox.  Subscription is $3.30 (approx £2) and is available by clicking the thumbnail below and visiting Amy’s site.

Colette Copeland

Time to say another thank you (over due I’m sorry to say) to someone who helped me out at the beginning of my Etsy journey.  Colette Copeland, better known on Etsy as Colette C, is an artist from Toronto in Canada.

When I first started selling on Etsy, I was unsure how soon I should start to see any visitors/buyers in my store. So, I looked around a few other stores, checking out their stats and so on.  I saw many wonderful stores and items and, soon came across Colette’s store, which I particularly liked.

Colette has been on Etsy for some time and is a very popular artist. Plucking up the courage, I “convod” Colette with a series of questions. I’m not sure now if that was the way I should have done it but, Colette was gracious enough to reply, giving kindly and encouraging advice.

Colette’s Etsy store is full of wonderful collages and other works, some of my favourites being included in this Thank You post.

If you’d like to see more of Colette’s work, please visit her Etsy store or her blog A Bird in the Hand.

Shelby is an artist originally from th UK now living in sunny Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands.  She studied art and then textiles at university.  Her love of pattern and colour is very evident in her work.

The Graphics Fairy blog

As the title suggests this is a blog about and full of graphics.  What I particularly like about the Graphics Fairy, is the variety of images that are available, how often they are updated and of course, the fact thath they’re free.  So if you’re looking for vintage graphic images for use in your craft projects this is an excellent blog to visit.

The layout of the blog is simple and easy to follow with all the latest posts listed first.  If you take a look around the blog there are loads of graphics available, yet the blog is neither overcrowded nor chaotic.  The graphics have all been categorised and can be found via the menu on the right hand side of the page; with other useful links like “about”, “copyright” “links” etc available in the banner at the top of the page.

Posts are made regularly, most everyday, so the content is always new.  Comments on post are allowed and visitors leave plenty, with some giving advice and links to further resources.

Graphics Fairy is a comprehensive resource for anyone looking for older or vintage graphics which are copyright free.   Many thanks to Karen for sharing.

To visit Graphics Fairy click here , cut and paste the following URL into your browser or use the “Sites we like” menu on the right hand side of the page.
