Dr Zhivago

It’s been a busy crazy summer, I’m so looking forward to life slowing down a touch and winter coming on. Then I’ll be able to hide away in my little work room (of sorts), with my favourite music and work away to my hearts content.

I want to work on another intricate piece, similar to the style of the “princes & the pea” and “Sleeping Beauty” but, inspired by Dr Zhivago – the novel by Boris Pasternak, first published in 1957.

Here are a few inspiring images I’ve found from the the film and other sources.

I just love the scenery, those snowy landscapes are so inspiring. Don’t you think snow makes everything look so different, other worldly? I want to combine this sort of feel into the piece I create.

I would so love to know what you think and would love to have your  comments.

  1. I’ve never read the book, nor seen the movie, but loved the music for many years. Perhaps one day I’ll do both of those things! 🙂
The snowy scenes inside the house and out with the carriage are so dreamy(?)! A fantastic effect just like everything is wearing it’s own delicate lacy shawl…very ethereal. Definitely other worldly as you say….perfect look for your beautiful creations.

  2. You have me all a twitter, wings flapping, can’t wait for you to have some time to create to your hearts content…

  3. I love that movie! But then…. it’s my age…. I saw it in the theatre when it came out…. I had a gray dress trimmed in faux fur…. the movie greatly influenced fashion when it came out! And for years afterwards! I love the snow in the movie… it’s beautiful… can’t wait to see what you do………
