Embroidery Art Tin – The Linnet
It’s a beautiful spring day today, there was a gorgeous frost when I woke up and now the sun is out so after sharing this blog with you I’m off in the garden to do some work.
At the mo I’m getting more and more interested in hand and machine art embroidery. I’ve had a go at machine embroidery in the past and love it but my sewing machine doesn’t, plus I need a lot more practise, (a poor workman always blames his tools.)
I’ve done a few pieces of work using tins and quotes but I’ve just finished a 4 page cotton rag book with a whole poem in it “The Linnet” by Walter De La Mare. I’m going to do a few more “little cotton books in tins”.
I love Cathy Cullis’s art embroidery she can be found on Etsy and she has her own blog.
Here are some more examples of embroidery illustration that also inspire me. I could put up many more but would find myself here all day.
These two pieces are by an artist called Anna Bollini.
This embroidery piece is by Kristine Fornes.
Here are a few images of my little embroidery book in a tin, hope you like it.
