Julie Arkell
Another inspiration ( I’ve known about her work for a while) is Julie. Like her I love to work with materials I find around my home – newspaper, glue, fabric, wool, cardboard, wire and various bits and pieces (see my current pieces online at my shop or Etsy; view my favourite pieces at my online gallery ). Julie is a contemporary folk artist who produces moulded figures, trees and animals made form glue and paper. She is an avid collector of postcards, plastic dolls, old books, aprons, fabric, buttons, jewellery, used toys and much more; everyday objects which she turns into the most wonderful creations.
To find out more about her and her work you might consider purchasing her book - Home.
Or, if you’re lucky enough to live close to London, you could consider attending one of her workshops at the Loop Yarn Shop Islington, London, UK
