Spring Wedding Art Dress

I meant to put this little art dress assemblage up on the blog last week.  However, she sold very qucikly, before I had a chance to get the gallery made, so I decided to leave her. Anyway, I liked her so much I decided to make a copy and, here she is, made from materials found on a recent trip to Oswestry.

Including vintage cotton.

A Spring Wedding. A classic looking wedding dress made from silk, cotton and book pages. The 3 dimensional bodice is sculpted from old book papers. The material of the dress is a beautiful soft white100% vintage cotton, which has been ruched and stitched together to form blossom shapes at the waist of the skirt. The under skirt of the dress is a beautiful soft ivory 100% vintage silk. The edging of the skirt is gathered under to give a tulip effect. The 2nd underskirt of the dress is made from many pleated and sewn book pages to give the dress it’s shape. The stunning piece of costume jewelry at the waist of the dress is vintage.
