Well the planned ascent of Moel Hebog from Cwm Pennant didn’t happen yesterday. We did make it to Cwm Pennant but with showers forecast (to coincide with summiting), Moel Hebog already in the cloud and the ground wetter then I’ve seen it during winter walks; we reverted to plan B, a low level walk in the Beddgelert area.
Beddgelert lies on the opposite side of Moel Hebog from Cwm Pennant and took us about 30 mins to reach by car. A beatiful location with loads of chocolate box photo opportunities, Beddgelert stands at the confluence of the River Glaslyn and River Colwyn in the Snowdonia area of Gwynedd, Wales.
We started our walk toward Llyn Dinas at around 12.30 pm, arriving back at Beddgelert around 4 hours later. On this trip, though there were plenty of beautiful views to capture, we ended up taking very few photos. Most of those in the gallery below are of water, as if we haven’t seen enough of it already this summer 😉
The weather held off all afternoon and we eventually saw the cloud lift from Moel Hebog. We’ve determined to return to next Monday and try to crack Moel Hebog from the Beddgelert side.
