Sue is busy in the kitchen making cakes and candles with our daughters and her mum, to the total bemusement of Vivian ( looks like we’re not going to get a blog post out of Sue today).

Now I understand his confusion.  The girls are not making cakes and candles but making candle cakes or cakes which are candles.  (Yes Vivian, cakes you can’t eat!!! Why???)

I could wax lyrical about this cake but ....

So, what to post? As the title of the blog suggests, Sue is an artist who expresses herself through different media and styles but, over the past 12 months has focused mostly on her art dress assemblage pieces – work on the Princess and The Pea continues..

But, of all Sue’s work my favourite is a collage she made many years ago.  It took her a long time to complete and even longer to get framed and hung.  Though I always say we should sell it, truth is I couldn’t part with it; perhaps one day we’ll have prints made.  I’ve never been able to get a good photo of it (it went behind glass before we got a digital camera) so for now I’ll have to share this digital image with you.

At the begining of last week I mentioned that I’d like to make available, for free download, some of Sue’s art work form a while back.  Well, the gallery is ready and you can get to it via the link marked “new” in the navigation menu at the top of left hand side bar. The images are photographs, edited in Photoshop, of some of Sue’s early collage work.  They can be used, free of charge for any non commercial project you like.  Use them as they are or manipulate them further, we ask only that you credit and link back.  Whatever you choose to do, please let us know, we’d love to see what you’ve made.

I’m enjoying playing with book sculptures at the moment and love the idea of little theater sets.

Just had to put this one up.  I put this treasury together last Thursday and thought nothing more about it.

I normally have Tom sort out notifying everybody when I put together a treasury and they usually respond via Etsy.  Well, like I said, I forgot this time so, when I checked for views and clicks on Friday , I was suprised  to see so many responses.  On looking at the replies I fond out the teasury had made it onto the front page at Etsy.  First time for me!
