A wire and paper sculpture art figurine, she eventually materialized as the Dusky Dawn Princess.
Made from wire and papier mache and put into an elegant stretched pose allowing for lots of movement which I find very important in figure work. Her hair is made from an off white soft cotton and is coiled and sewn into place. Adorning the hair are vintage beads.
The title of this piece is influenced by the beautiful dusky neutral pink color of her satin dress. It’s as if she has just left her ball at the break of day when the new morning sky has that beautiful pink hazy colour, I can imagine her being bare foot. The underskirt is made from a good quality off white cartridge paper.. The paper of the skirt has a crushed full look to it ,to resemble the look of heavy crushed silk. The bodice is intricately worked with vintage pearl beads, glass beads and tiny vintage buttons.
