Tim Walker is known as a fashion photographer and I’m a huge fan of his work. I can disappear for hours and hours into his beautiful narrative work. His work is theatrical and surreal, larger than life and sometimes a little dark, but there again what fairy tale is’nt.
You recognize his work straight away as it has such a strong style about it. He has a large imagination, looking at his work is like entering a never ending fairy tale dream.
The theatrical scenes and images that he creates I find completely inspiring, especially when I work on my little book sculptures, which I want to get more involved in where I’m creating my own narrative pieces. I’ve acquired (I’m very good at acquiring, it’s the natural magpie in me.) parts of an old dolls house which I’m excited about and want to work my book sculptures with them creating little unusual fairytale theatrical images, obviously on a smaller scale to Tim Walkers scenes! I would love to get my hands on a stately home and be able to run riot in all the rooms creating scenes as Tim Walker now that would be a dream.
Hope you’re inspired by these images as much as I am. Would love to know what you think.
