So what did delay the completion of “Cathy”? She was supposed to have been completed by Saturday.
Well, it all started or should I say ground to a halt, late Friday afternoon. We were in our local supermarket when Sue, upon arriving at the chilled meats section announced, “we’re having some friends over for brunch tomorrow morning and then we’re all going for a walk (to prepare for the hike with Sarah). “Yes” I said, “I remember, Simon and Charlotte, and your mother is coming too”. So, we picked up some extra bacon and sausage. “You’ll need more than that” said Sue. Now Sue is a good one for playing her cards close to her chest, not giving me a chance to talk her out of things or to express any reservations. By the time we arrived, several aisles later, to pick up the eggs, I was now preparing brunch for 12.
Anyway, when I eventually sat down to brunch the following morning, I’d prepared (albeit with the help of the wonderful Susan and Jess) enough coffee, toast, pancakes, sausages, eggs, bacon, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes to feed 14 (my brother and his daughter turned up). Ah well, I didn’t have to do the washing up.
I should have taken some pictures of the brunch but I was a little busy, but I do have some photos of the walk we did later. The walk was around parts of Rhoscolyn, its about 3.5 miles long and took us about 2 and a half hours (there was a rather stiff breeze for a large section of the walk). Note the reduction in the number who eventually made the walk!
